Some of these other options you listed are decisions based on how you want to live and how you feel about having strangers in your primary house and aren't something we can tell you to do. 

I'm a little mind blown at the fact that they might get 1.4 million for it (300k under market value) due to a guest/stranger who committed suicide, where the owners now have property that has a stigma around it.

I wasn't going to mention random strangers in my house to her.

I would caution you to be careful about any feed back from a bunch of strangers on the internet.

You want free and accurate tax advice from complete stranger on the internet

Buyer beware if anyone thinks it's best to just buy a house, rent your closet to some stranger and bling, free mortgage!.

Good contractors are a precious commodity and any investor who has spent years and tens of thousands of dollars on contractors form hell will not feel motivated to share those with a stranger on the internet.

It's far easier to get repeat business from a prior customer than new business from a stranger.
