I tried to buy a 40 acre piece, but the agent couldn't contact the sellers and I had a time deadline, so I found some river frontage and bought that instead.Gilcrest, Chemult, and probably DIamond lake will be listed on CentralOregonRealtors.com.

John, I'd recommend you attend one of your local real estate investment groups to make contacts, ask questions, and get pointers to local resources.I've been to both RI Real Estate Investor Group (http://www.rireig.com/) in Warwick RI and Black Diamond REI (http://www.blackdiamondrealestateinvestors.com/) in southern MA.Both are educational groups and don't subject you to sales pitches, which I have experienced in other groups over the years (none of which are still around, to my knowledge).And welcome to BP of course!

We have done very well investing in houses that have turned lots of other people off, but we have seen it as a diamond in the rough.I certainly wouldn't do that with all of our properties but diversify into slightly more risky wit more reward.
