My contractor installed particleboard kitchen cabinets that have a oak doors.

I think the rear wall that floods (including kitchen cabinets) has to be gutted and remedied.CK Hwang thanks for the suggestion.

A newly acquired duplex on one side it's a 2/1 (or technically a 1/1 with a den as the den doesn't have a closet) I have a kitchen area - fairly standard - all along one wall, the wall being 11' 2" long and all the cabinets and appliances need to be on that wall.Currently it's a blank wall, as everything was ripped out by previous owner before foreclosure.I am trying to get some input on the design and layout, not so much "which is better?"

I promptly began ripping out carpet, trim, old kitchen cabinets etc.

@Mark Beekman To get the edges, you have to mask off the floor and cabinets, and let the polymer overflow and drop off to the floor.

I hired out the plumbing, electrical, granite counters and tile but I installed cabinets, trim and lighting.

I wold look at a pre assembled base cabinet with top at Home Depot.

OR you can get approved and inspected to perform them yourself in a room with locked file cabinet, etc.

When in the rehabbing process, what are some good floor material, material for cabinets, shelves and kitchen applainces etc.
