I currently manage 7 rental units and have been thinking about installing some home automation devices to better help manage the properties and receive alerts.  

They promote automating processes and getting the owner out of the way so the owner doesn't make decisions.

Its more systems engineering and proj management than technical engineering.A lot of that can translate into what I want to do for REI in terms of building the lifecycle of  automated systems.  

It seems to marketing itself as a short-term cash-flow approach to screening a tenant, versus the traditional credit and paystub/W2 approach to verifying a person's credit and income.The core issue in using automated screening systems alone is that it's possible no one is looking at the person's credit or income history or income continuance.

I'm working on an API tool that will will auto 'cash out' when a new receipt hits the Venmo account, then ping my property management app to mark the rent as received, closing the loop and completely automating the process.

The only way I know how to quit someday is from builing systems and automations that can replace what you do.  

It has automated my entire leasing process and much (not all) of my business.
