As a civil engineer I would recommend finding an engineer that has done work in this region before. 

My goal is to rent it out to start generating some cash flow.I’m planning to remodel the kitchen soon, and once that’s done, I’d like to move out to make the apartment available for renters.

Orangeburg is an inferior, out of date product, made out of essentially paper and tar.

This would give me an edge in investing in townhomes/condos, but I'm having difficulty finding condo investing resources.

This intermediate step allows you to develop the required systems while the consequences of mistakes remain manageable.One strategy that worked well for several investors I know: partner on your first larger deal with someone who already manages multi-family.

Been looking into building out an IDX lead generation website and I stumbled upon software called Mashvisor, it claims to integrate into your IDX website and calculate Cap Rates / Cash Outlay, Etc etc.

-With my current role in my career and trajectory, I will be able to make the move out of midland in 1-2 years, so I would love the ability to leave and not worry about my home sitting on the market when we are trying to buy a home in Austin.Those are some of my thoughts and I would love to understand the reasoning for/ against this.
