One is the public perception promulgated by either guru pitches Blogs on BP or posts on BP and other places that recommend those starting in real estate start as wholesalers because you don't need money training or anything else and you can make money on deals..

George Bernard Shaw I recently had a very interesting conversation with someone and it has altered my view on gurus in one aspect.Don't get too shocked I still believe it is a total waste of money for 99.9% of all real estate investors out there and for 100% of anyone just starting out.So, what altered my perception?

If BO doesn't bring about the change he's promised (and he won't) the collective anger of the public will be turned toward him and the Dems and the ebb and flow of political power will begin to shift back towards the GOP (as it already has in my perception.)

I think the comments about "it's Kirkwood" have more to do with it as perception can be everything.Drive around Kirkwood/Rock Hill/Glendale and then drive into & around Webster Groves.

Obviously he applied this same precept to electricity and electric cars.If this man can create societal changing companies by sitting down and reading books, and yes he too received much help from those that knew more (like those that do here in BP concerning real estate) I find it hard to believe a new investor should be able to figure out how to find, analyze, and fund a real estate deal.All the best!

One thing that has been holding me back from pursuing residential assisted living further is that my perception is that they tend to be pretty management intensive, much more so than standard rental real estate managed by a property management company.
