Apartment complexes frequently have a flat fee security deposit that is substantially lower than 1 month of rent (think $300, $500) - I would suggest you at least try that route.

We obviously don't have that with shelter in place orders, however, it's amazing how closely we can start looking like a randomly mixing population the more contacts people have with the community (thinking the non-essential trips to stores just to walk around, frequent grocery shopping trips, short visits with friends, etc.).

Another thing to consider, a service member may "think" they only have 11 months left somewhere, but that changes VERY frequently, so they wouldn't have known until receiving orders.As a landlord, I wouldn't try and fight this.
