SCRA Military question
I have a legal question regarding SCRA. I own in a military town and my tenant knew they only had 11 month military orders but they were willing to sign a 12 month lease. Fast-forward 10 months, my tenant is trying to pull the SRCA card and get out of that last month.
In my mind, SCRA is more for a situation where the tenant received unexpected orders to deploy during their lease term. Not for a situation where you know when you are moving but will sign any lease and just claim SCRA on the back end.
Additionally, is there a proper way the tenant must inform me? I don't think email/text is valid enough.
