I'm using disregarded LLCs to anonymize the owner of my rental properties.

They are usually more for anonymity and or estate planning.what kind of trust is it?  

So, here are some benefits of having an LLC. 1) If you live in a state where an LLC is cheap then its cheap protection of your personal assets or assets within another LLC as long as you run it like a business. 2) Anonymity.

Unless you consider anonymity to be asset protection, that is :)

I'm sure you can understand, some people entertain themselves and find joy in being aggressive or even malicious behind a curtain of anonymity.

There are work a round's that don't provide the same degree of anonymity and if necessary to implement down the road will be costly. 

They anonymize the data by tabulating each record into a micro use area, which is larger than a Census tract, making this method redundant.  

Really the benefit of LLC right now is anonymity (tenants can't look your name up online).4-units and under are considered residential and HAVE to close in your name for government loan (Fannie/Freddie).
