The house was built in 1951 (before the era of grounded outlets) and a lot of the outlets had been replaced with modern 3 slot ones instead of the old two slot ones (that you can't plug a modern three-prong plug into).

I know that in Southern Florida where I have family, they use concrete block construction on slabs, the studs are steel, and the plumbing is all CPVC.If you have pipes in the slab, that will really add to the price.
