With a “1920’s” house I personally love the older woodwork, charm, style etc but expenses can quickly run away considering a roof, systems, windows etc and those can take a major chunk out of the income or put you in the negative.

I installed new hardwood flooring in her unit and restored and shellacked the woodwork with the expectation of tripling the rent. 

They're all older (same-ish age as the foreclosed home I'm looking at) with dated appliances/woodwork/etc., but they're clean.The foreclosed home is in similar shape to the low 90s ones, but it's dirty/neglected.

Between the urine, hair, and claw sharpening on all the woodwork they can really destroy a place.I would probably pass if your main plan is to put a highly allergic person in it, but if the numbers work out well and you can rent it to an animal lover it might not be a bad deal.

@Marie Sanders , I live in a C neighborhood, and people were coming out of the woodwork when they saw debris outside from the rehab work I was doing on the units.

You will have a lot of loan originators coming out of the wood work or so call X bankers setting up shop with no background experience or references and calling themselves loan originator.

The property is waterfront and at the time of purchase, sound side land was at a premium and buyers were coming out of the woodwork. 

I agree with Andrew and a light gray vs the white woodwork looks nice.
