When I see a large fishing tournament announced I raise my rates at our Lake house.

I'm considering a couple of different options, would love to hear thoughts if anyone else has been in a similar situation in their market.Option 1: stay in my current house and buy a sfh outside of this ~10 mile radius where new construction isn't as heavily saturated but still growing in population.Option 2: turn my current house into a STR to try to take advantage of the golf course tournament travelers, etc.

I used to spend time there every summer around memorial day for soccer tournaments and saw the place grow. 

It does quite well bringing in people who are here for golfing (leisure/tournaments), visiting family, and buying/building new homes!

Or you could put it all on Lafayette in the NCAA tournament.

I would love to go to this meeting, my daughter has a basketball tournament going on so I'm not sure if I can make it.

Mom and pop companies will have their ups and downs if there is limited staff when they are at the pta, kids baseball tournament, vacation, or home sick.   

Like a golf tournament or something.
