Make sure they haven't invested all the capital they have in this one deal, and make sure they understand the time table and risk that comes with investing in real estate. 

As for the windows I would simply inform them they are on my list of to do projects but at present there is no immediate time table.

As the closing date, 6/5/2017, approached I was getting antsy as I knew a lot of planning should be happening but I couldn't get any straight answers from Charles and no schedule, time tables or floor plans had been done - not even meetings scheduled.

In Texas there are specific steps a tenant must take in order to initiate a rent strike, and specific time-tables for landlords to respond to things that might be grounds for one.  

With a 1031 you are under a time table and in this market it's hard to find the right property.
