HOWEVER, since anxiety is a legitimate medical condition with which a service dog can be required, many times, just the approach of the discussion prompts a panic attack since the questioner (in some cases) is less than cordial in their asking OR the service dog handler anticipates a confrontation that may never take place in the first place.

The only downside to this whole situation is now you have to send a different contractor to work on her unit to avoid a potential confrontation which sort of stinks considering you have a 15 year history with the contractor.

I confronted her that I don't feel comfortable with people entering my home when I'm not there because of my valuable possessions and my dogs, and that I'd like the 24 hr notice so that I can make arrangements and also make sure the house is as presentable as possible, considering packing and moving will be taking place.

Maybe you've tried this to no success already, but sometimes people need to hear the same thing presented in different ways or multiple times in a VERY NON CONFRONTATIONAL or argumentative manner.
