Investing Into Florida Urban Areas?

- Met a person at my local Shop, I am not sure how the conversation advanced to the level it did, but ultimately, I learned he is from FLORIDA and lives in P.A. For his career. He advised me NEVER to go to The Florida urban areas, as it has high crime rates and “ everyone has a gun “. He advised and explained that “Whites” are targeted and “killed on sight” for disrespecting someone in anyway. He also began to explain, that, the laws state, you can “ KILL “ someone for simply talking crap and threatening you. I am sure “Stand your ground law “doesn’t work that way. However, it definitely incited fear and anxiety. Guy was trying to “Size Me Up” and I didn’t handle it well, as I never handle being “sized up” well. It’s just not who I am, I’m really NON-Confrontational.

Anyways. This was the WORST time I could of met a negative person like this, as I PLAN on buying my first out of state Home in Tampa Bay Area. (I love Tampa)

- My Questions for landlords of all types and Florida investors

- Do you let negative people “incite” fear into your investing strategies and lifestyle? Best way to handle intimidation?

- Should I look deeper into these “stories“

Before I make the final purchase? People can get harmed and killed anywhere, it just bothers me how he told me all these things right before a deal was in the works.

- If you invest into Florida, what are your tips for staying safe as a “landlord” or just in general? Have you been first hand victimized as a landlord vs a tenant? (assaults, shootings)
