I have a tenant who recently told me a contractor of mine “stole/took/misplaced” a phone charger of theirs. Contractor has been working with me and my family for over 15+ years. What would you say do or suggest. Should I replace the charger and move on?? Obviously I called the contractor and he said he didn’t see nor take nor misplaced item. Thank guys.

A contractor doesn't work for you for 15 years and then steal something so petty. I would defend my contractor. If the tenant continues, I would pay the $15 for the charger out of pocket and then seriously consider not renewing.

I couldn’t have said it any better myself.

I spoke to the tenant and told them exactly that. My contractor made an easy $300+ on that (1) job. Why burn that bridge over a $15-20 dollar charger. Common sense isn’t common anymore
