I've been to a few around here and it soon becomes obvious that the audience is peppered with shills bidding the real estate prices up.

Get on forums that cover a particular topic and have shills come in and talk it up.

IE: your promotion of Anthony Angotti as that is referred to as "shill promoting".

I'm not a shill for Tom Krol or anything, I get absolutely nothing if you join or you don't, but I truly think Tom is the best in the business, and if you're wanting to take the fast track and get your business going really quickly, he's the best. 

wèlcome back .. looks like a nice find .. would love to know your numbers ..I to have bought hmes through Hubzu but not lately .. ever since i suspected them shill bidding..I have stayed away ..well that and the fact that they were looking for retail prices on most of their properties ..  

I've purchased most of my deals from Auction.com and here is my assessment:Beware of the shills.

I am not trying to shill anything, I am just starting to rethink how I invest my money, as I previously thought rei was the best route to grow my wealth.

If you gotta shill, it clearly isn't working well.

I'm not trying to be a shill for the blue store - but it's a decent tool and far more useful and flexible than the in-house cards offered.

From the number of 1 post “shills” they have on BP that are so obvious they have required moderator intervention, I think of that material as more likely pushed out the “back end.”
