It can be beneficial, but understand many specialize in letting newbies do the ground work, find the deal and then they move in taking a profit for the direction they give.

I was interested in taking on my first flip out of state where the risk was lower due to capital requirements.

They need combustion air to operate (unless it's a newer high-efficiency furnace with its own intake air pipe coming from outside the house). 

I ran the gas line & they installed the double intake/exhaust Al pipes to the top of the chimney & added a metal chimney cover/cap with a separate vent cap.

Side note: For all online intake you need a way to follow up QUICKLY.
