A small town in a beautiful location, with an under priced real estate market, gets swamped by investors who bought up all the property to rent to tourists.

Tourist travel to the area.If the STR market remains strong it doesn't really matter what the broader market does. 

These counties have large areas which are zoned properly, and in fact have many communities which are purpose-built for vacation rentals which have hotel-like amenities which are in big demand with Disney tourists.

Cities with tourist attractions like Miami, FL, or Charleston, SC, might justify keeping an office space.

The east side of the island seems to have more tourist coming through.

However in Buenos Aires I think I would be able to make a niche for myself referring tourists to short term leases.I'm not too concerned about crime in Buenos Aires, I'd take my chances in Buenos Aires over Minneapolis any day.

Specifically for NC, I can tell you the demand for STR ownership has skyrocketed over the last year which has driven prices up, particularly in tourist towns, nearly 50% in some areas (in one year). 

Tennessee is a big tourist draw in the summers. 

But I rent my places to refinery ruffians, not tourists.
