Make sure the utility companies know your the owner, and any disconnection notice also needs to go you, so you can be made aware so the property remains protected.

Doesn't mean you have to, just to me disconnecting all utilities, lifting the house, removing old foundation and pouring a new one, etc takes quite a bit of money and time.
