I'm willing to travel to Miami once or twice a year and manage the properties from Spain, hiring a good property manager to address issues, find new tenants, manage payments, and clean the property for new tenants.

Assume you will need to at least clean the ducts too.

Normally this would be an automatic no, but these particular tenants are by far the best we've ever had and unbelievably clean.

It all depends on where you get your used appliances, as there are too many stores out there that just pick anything off the street, give it a clean, and then put it out in the showroom as long as it runs.

I stayed patient because I knew her non-paying run would eventually end.And what did she do, left the property in such a trashed state that that a junk removal service told me it's going to take at least 2 full trucks to clean the place out - and it's going to need a top to bottom remodel.

While a recirculating hood with a proper filter (cleaned regularly), would help the grease, it would do nothing for the pollutants.If it were me, I'd put in an electric stove (I don't want to chance with my or tenants air quality) and add a 390 cfm or less exhaust hood (still recommenced to get rid of steam, etc from cooking). 

It's more wear, more cleaning and a bigger chance for parties.

The street it’s on is clean and nice, but there are some run-down, overgrown homes & lots nearby, there’s also a new $1 million home that’s the only one of its kind (and been on the market for 18 months).

My biggest hesitation is the cleaning up daily or weekly.  

I've considered buying or converting a few of mine to STR, but dont want a cleaning and laundering job.
