Hello BP family,I'm in contract for a home built in 2021, upon the home inspection it was found that about 1/4 of the roof has these defected shingles that have a line/minimal crack through them.

Roof has some shingles popping up.

I had once some siding shingles tested that the neighbor complained to have asbestos.

Almost everyone who even loosely claims to be a contractor is up on a roof right now gouging people for shingles.

The shingles blow off more often, the paneling and wall paper they use comes off, the trim is cheaper and warps, the skirting comes apart, the doors are cheaper and break easier.

Rip off shingles, +replace any old wood ($11.5k)2.

Once it starts failing you may even be able to repair some of the worst spots and squeeze another 5 years out of the remaining shingles.
