Roof Shingle Issue - Manufacturer Defected shingles on 1/4 of the roof

Hello BP family,

I'm in contract for a home built in 2021, upon the home inspection it was found that about 1/4 of the roof has these defected shingles that have a line/minimal crack through them. Had an alternate roofer inspect and he indicated the roof is in good shape, no hail damage anywhere and he doesn't feel like these shingles will cause any issues, HOWEVER, my issue would be getting someone to insure it (as it is)..last thing i want is 5yrs from now there is damage and the claim folks get on the roof and see all these shingles with lines through them and not cover the damage.

As a new investor/home buyer -- any suggestions on my next move here? Likely we could file a warranty claim with the builder (a long process but assume that's option 1)....

Anyone had this issue before...if i pull out it has to be by Saturday

Whatcha thinking?

Thank you kindly..

Tish
