Hi BP, We recently purchased a duplex in MA and the exterior siding is asbestos cement siding.

While the place has been updated, other areas show their age, such as the older flooring and stairs, popcorn ceiling on the 2nd floor, etc..

Interior: replacement of lights, plumbing replaced with copper pipes, paint, hot water heater replacement, stairs/railings.  

Hi BP,Has anyone replaced single asbestos cement shingles and replaced with fiber cement shingles?

3) If there is any type of wood porches, railings, stairs what does the condition of the wood look like?

Anybody have any recommendations on a contractor/handyman that can replace numerous patios/exit stairs on multi family building?

I have numerous buildings with the following patio/stairs that need to be fixed(6-unit buildings with 2-upper, 2-middle and 2-bottom floor).

I'm not talking about a 1930 house that shifted a little or settled 50 years ago, I'm talking about active stair-step block/brick cracking, separating concrete walls, inward/outward wall bulging, etc.

I now find going up and down the stairs is not as easy on my injured knee.

We added new floors, paint, kitchen, bath, and opened up some walls to give more natural light to the stairs and kitchen.
