To get a ball park idea you can go to trulia.com, put the address of the subject property in the search bar and scroll to the bottom of that page to see what has recently sold - only problem is that foreclosures will come up and also properties that you have no idea what their condition is.

I've been using a big chunk of my time reading and using all the great tools this site has to offer, and just gaining more knowledge scrolling thru different discussions.
