However if they say you can't do it that way work where you build your addition with two separate areas, and pay a bit extra for electrical to be completely separate and ready for a separate meter if you can ever get that swapped over.If you can split utilities just rent them out as utilities included and add a buffer to where it will be break even on bad months and in your favor a bit on good months.Best of luck!
