You don't indicate what or who your "group" is composed of or even what kind of group it is, so the question exists in a vacuum. 

I'm assuming it does, since I've rented from a couple landlords who didn't really get into having a web presence. 

It was explained to me that there will always be larger investors with a strong presence and plenty of cash.

Look at the national presence shops like CBRE, Cassidy Turley, Marcus & Milichap, Hendricks & Partners, etc.  

The outside looks a little rough and the presence of asbestos which I assume would be in the house makes me wonder what I should be looking out for.

Also, there is really good money to be made in creating and commodifying your internet presence with an REI educational angle.
