Help With Title Search

Hi All,

I have been doing some research on pre-foreclosure and auction properties in RI.  However, I am still not sure how I properly perform a title search for liens and the like.  Does anyone have any experience with this?  I've tried searching for the information on the web, but the town's website is awful.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Jason

@Jason King

I learned title search by going to the source.  An attorney who had done a bunch of work for me had a practice almost 100% real estate.  At the heyday, he had 5 title abstractors on his staff as full time employees.  I asked him if I could tag along, ask questions and learn how to do title searches.  He said yes.

The title information is usually at the county courthouse and some counties have some info on the website, while other counties have no web presence.
