And if you are not doing business right or your LLC is not set up right, a would-be litigator could get at your personal assets.There are ways to keep your personal information off of the company docs but it is more costly and, in my opinion so far, not worth it.As Brandon pointed out, definitely, definitely, seek a good real estate or business attorney to get definitive answers in your neck of the woods, but what I stated above is generally why investors opt for an LLC.

If they know the owner then why have they not called me to talk, I was trying to be civil and a stated I'm trying to find the owners of the property and of course stand offish with no response to it and they will not answer my phone calls or messages at all.

In the past i've usually held stuff in an S corp or LLC and then did a mortgage between myself and that entity just in case something happened and there was litigation against that entity.Am I over-complicating things and adding unnecessary costs?
