I am not as concerned with cost and would prefer quality and transparency.

I’m sure others will also provide feedback and other metrics to evaluate the quality of this investment.

Is it a quality that would match a legal ADU?  

I would rather invest my time and efforts in creating a quality life for me and my family , travel the world, enjoy the moment than burn myself out 7 days a week trying to build an empire of any kind. 

Get your real estate agent involved now to determine what product quality you are looking for.

If you can figure out how to get a quality asset and manage the risk you can do great. 

The biggest issue for Baltimore and frankly any rust belt city is the rise of remote work, Baltimore is cheap for a major job center, but it’s not that cheap period, pretty much any area west of Frederick county or east of the bay bridge has ample housing stock for sub 300k and imo a better quality of life, so the one thing that Baltimore has going for it pre-pandemic which was a pretty solid mix of Fortune 500 companies located downtown has been significantly reduced & downtown is a ghostown now.

So, I focus on her wonderful qualities and understand that marriage is a compromise.
