I'm not an attorney, and you should get the final word from one.Let's dissect the language:"Owning, without more, real or personal property" [Emphasis Mine]Most laypeople skip over really important language when reading sections of legal code, as they tend to focus in on parts of the code, and in doing so they miss others and don't consider everything together in a holistic manner.What does the "without more" above mean?

Even if you do have the language in place, you should still look at your local and state laws to determine what you can do in terms of getting them out of the property but this law while in place supersedes previous housing laws.

Due to COVID, I've had a hard time finding a new Tenant so now my Unit is vacant.In the Lease we signed together, there is language that states: "if the Tenant moves out prior to the natural expiration of this lease, a re-rent levy of [equivalent to 1 month's rent] will be charged to the Tenant.".Given these circumstances, am I legally allowed to tell the Tenant due to them breaking their lease early I will simply keep their Security Deposit?
