It was a good gesture on their part, but doubt if it will ever be used.

Because this, I have upgraded to a Pro Account as a gesture of gratitude.

I would also personally help someone out for free, but perhaps if you turn a good profit, and this person is helpful, you get them a nice gift card upon completion of the sale as a friendly gesture.

We collectively paid for the lot split engineering and legal expenses while I talked title company into doing their part as a complimentary gesture.

good will gesture, ask your neighbors if they want it, make sure to say if you don't take it by x day I will have it hauled.  

The whole premise of wholesaling is to leverage other folks resources, so selling your vehicle although a grand and noble gesture means you've somewhat missed the mark.

I think the "pay them off" route is a bad idea unless it is for someone deserving of charitable gesture.  

That might be more of a gesture of good faith, or you might be advised to refund the fee because the price changed after accepting fees (different pretense for them paying you) -- again, I'm not a lawyer.
