@Elizabeth Ross - make sure you are familiar with South Bend - houses for under 100k in South Bend can typically be in pretty rough neighborhoods, so be sure to do your due diligence. 

If you bend on this to get a member in because you want to fill the place it will bite you. 

I own multifamily in Great Bend and Halsted PA. 

Reliance on a team a flight away wasn't for me as I was getting started, I am considering bending that approach. 

Mortgage lending is highly competitive, and there are many newbie loan officers that will bend over backwards to get you to pull a credit report and pay for an appraisal.

You can do whatever you want in terms of bending for the tenants and trying to provide "great service,' but the truth is you receive no credit for it and will be the evil landlord at the first repair that takes too long, late fee owed, alternation denied, etc.  

We have driven through Michigan City, Gary and South Bend. 

They seem to be a financial planning company with a bend to aggressive investing in alternative assets.
