I've never been accused of being anti-government, but it of roils me to think of big brother using such a heavy hand to regulate what individuals do with their own property.

If by "stranger" you mean someone from another country,  that is exactly why anti-discrimination laws are in place. 

I wish the media wouldn’t try so hard to intentionally conflate being against illegal immigration with being “anti immigrant”.

I know few apartment there is giving concession like 3 to 4 months, it's not just about the crime and homelessness but the gov is also very anti landlord.it is squatter base of america these days

Why this may actually be a problem:Context: During the last week or so of escrow, we run a bunch of database anti-fraud type checks on the homebuyer, the agents, the seller, etc.

For example, if a local jurisdiction wanted to be anti growth they could pass crazy rent control on SFR to discourage development.

If the loan was kept in house, never to be resold they could possibly do what they want to if could could convince them of the value of the rents.The underwriter is likely going to think that if they had to foreclose on the property because of a pandemic or anti STR legislation they could only value the property per comps.

This is why I said sometimes not just Fed/ goverment is stupid but they also practically very anti business as well.
