Matt  I'd look near Kids Springs park/Bishop Arts, or near lower Greenville (I think that might be tough), M streets (also tough).Those are the places I 'd probably start with.

It seems that property management is an art in and of itself. 

I, as I am sure you have, have had many people tell me things like "I'm going to be an API inspector like you" or "Ill come lift with you at the gym too" or "I definitely want to learn martial arts from you" and they may show up a time or 2 but then soreness kicks in or they find out how hard it is and I never see them again.

You may have the money in savings, or it may come from a tax refund or an investment in stocks, art, or other things you can sell to finance the remodel.Personal or unsecured loan.

So I'm new in this community but I've studied the the art of real estate about 4 months now and listened to all the BP real estate podcast.
