-Do you allow college-aged renters to have pets?

I basically do two things, drive around to see for rent signs, call up a few and get to know their asking rent, pet policy, security deposit etc...I also look up a few sites to do the same.

@Brian Mathews i do have to comment on one of your points as i have heard this line of thinking in the past and it tends to get my dander up.

When installing a carbon monoxide alarm, choose a location where the alarm will stay clean, and out of the way of children or pets.

A service animal is not considered a pet under Fair Housing, so all of those "pet" rules have to be set aside.Now, the word "reasonable" there leaves a lot of loopholes.

Which is a pet peeve of mine, since I am sure there are qualified non profit housing companies set up by scammers just to benefit from government programs, no property taxes in many States, and other advantages such priority status in HUD bidding.

Find out what kind of condition they are in, do they allow pets, what are they asking, what is the deposit, are any utilities included.

If you allow pets, also consider pet rent.
