We offer 4 different payment methods to our tenants: Online ACH via our PM software (no charge) Deposit @ our bank ($3 charge) Credit Card ($5 + cc fees) Mail ($10 charge)Notice we charge a fee for the less desirable options to encourage the behavior we want:)

Zillow allows the tenant to pay for rent for free via ACH or it charges them a transaction fee for credit cards. 

I have a quick question - can landlords require rent payments to be paid in the form of an ACH payment in Wisconsin?

It's up to you if you want to risk the a** ache of small claims court or just pay the $800 so he'll shut up and you never have to see him again.

@Miguel Vasquez I work for a rent payment service and one option we recommend for tenants without a bank account is a prepaid debit card that allow ACH debits, such as the NetSpend card.  

We use Propertyware and its built-in feature to pay owners via ACH. 

This last group is the one that cause the most head aches- late payments mainly- and these are the ones we try to avoid...Kelly

But if you have rental management program where you accept credit card / ACH payment's and your rents didn't total what the credit card processor said they processed for you... something like that they would pick up on.All the best!

Were that the case then we should all be SOL thanks to the glorious ACH transfer.In reality, that is a small piece of the role, and it fits within the total package of stewardship, which is perhaps a better and more wholistic thing to expect of your manager.
