There's of course hidden fees like upgrades, price of the foundation, land, zoning challenges, connecting to sewer etc but I'm curious as to someone's actual numbers on their experience with one of these (modern or traditional).

We usually buy used oak cabinets; they are usually widely available and super cheap because they were the builder standard in the 90's and everyone is redoing them now -- I try to find hidden hinge cabinets so we don't have to redo the hinges.

Also, any tips on things to do, places to eat and any hidden gems that we should know about?

I am assuming that this is an older property, many of the are in that area, to make sure there there are no hidden problems that may occur.

There could be some hidden costs to get that permitted.
