In a lot of cases, the banks, represented by their attorneys, were buying up most of the properties for $250 or $500.My intended goal for going to the auction was to meet buyers and create a buyers list (email list) for when I get a property under contract I can sell it quickly.

(I find that condos can be self managed even from far away, so I can forgo PM on them).One other thing to consider is if the condo is not in the city proper, like the suburbs lets say, they will often not appreciate at as high of a rate as a SFH.
