Won't be any discount from Fannie, just accruing taxes, insurance, interest, etc.

We have found it increases open rate due to curiosity. 

I am reminded of a story a client of mine told about sending his own version of "lumpy mail" He was mailing to Absentees, trying to find frustrated or burnt out land lords.His idea was to put two tylenol tablets in each letter to go for that "there's something in here" curiosity killed the cat lumpy effect.

Just out of curiosity would you even address the the wholesaler and let her/him know you've been in contact with the investor/seller?

It weeds out the tire kickers and the people who just want to see the property out of curiosity, without even the intention of noticing whether or not it has tires.
