It is doable but like what you said the success depends on the team you have in that area. 

Like already mentioned, it will take some work, but doable.

If I don't have at least a ballpark figure to go off of then there is no way for me to tell if this is even something doable or not and we will just be wasting each others time.

@Felix Badillo The numbers you used are definitely doable in the midwest if you are talking about leveraging (financing), but be sure you include realistic numbers in your projections for soft costs - vacancy & maintenance; and don't just accept the proformas from the provider.

When i walked out, i didn't think this house would be doable.

I'm in charleston, sc and that price is hard but do able. do your research on a agent, maybe someone on here would be your best choice. 

As far as buying in the US, it's very doable.
