So I've been renting out my condo for years and I just got notice that the board voted to ban rentals in this association.

That's completely unfair.I suggest going to the board members and asking them to require that any current rentals be terminated within a year unless the ban is lifted.

I have heard stories of people being banned and such.

I find the new ones usually are started by those that want to make money from the people attending so they are self serving or they were banned, removed from existing groups for being.. well self serving.

I think there is a easy solution rather and banned members totally.

As mentioned, get authorization to talk to the ban, or a good first step is to simply be with her when she calls her bank, verifies who she is, gives permission for the bank to talk to you, and hands you the phone.  

One word of warning, which I'm starting to see quite a lot is that the short term rentals are coming under fire and some cities/counties are banning them all together unless it's a commercial zone or something like that.
