The moisture detector once we put fans in the ceiling for a few days now detects no moisture.

It will remain in place and be removed at the end of tenancy.Hopefully, that sways people towards treating it more gently.

That allows for trapping of moisture under the home, creating an environment for mold growth, and allowing the wood to warp.

Key to mold is to know the moisture source and solve that.

I gather the moisture is immediately obvious to anyone that enters that room?

One consideration when using the sticky-edged products: if you have spills or moisture, it can degrade that adhesive and cause a failure or you can have adhesive seeping along the edges of each plank or tile.

After investigating I found the moisture was coming from a HOLE in the tub !

I would be more concerned about the cause of mold given that it was newly renovated. you never know what's behind the drywall. basement moisture/leakage issue can cost a lot to fix especially it has been already finished. 

Once you have a call or letter from an attorney because the nice rottweiler that you played with for 3 minutes during the screening process has chewed up little Johnny down stairs or more likely little Johnny's annoying cat, it will not matter how gentle you perceived this rottweiler to be.
