So a move from House rental to raw land is fine as long as your intent is to hold that land and use for investment - as a ranch, hip or glam camp, hunting/fishing retreat, farm land, or just land you want to hold because it will increase in value as it is in the path of progress.Generating income is not a statutory requirement.

I'd recommend putting 110% of your efforts into finding a deal, probably raw land.As a new investor, you're not going to be able to take down a development BUT you can very easily find someone to take it down for you if you bring them the deal.
