Hi Sarah, Really cool project, ideas i can think of from running one of our airbnbs in a football town:Small wooden fence in the back (cost less then full privacy but will give idea of enclosure, for better price maybe chap plastic fence?)

The anonymity I didn't touch on, but you can integrate it to provide more privacy by removing your name from public record through the use of Land Trusts.Just some thoughts.

I rented a room in Ballard in an old craftsman from 1910s with an apt downstairs and they had open access to our house from the basement door (no lock), the roommate in the house was good friends with the couple in the downstairs flat, so it wasn't too big of a privacy issue, but if a stranger moved in, would have been a completely different story.
