Most people likely don't realize that it's a vinyl product...the technology has come a long way.Regarding color, you can find the modern grey mixed with a little brown and have something both modern and timeless.  

I am a Construction Technology teacher at a Southern California high school.

The buzzer system has gone bad and I have been quoted 2.5-3k+ to essentially put in a new, but still same technology system that has been used for the last 20+ years.I've been reading a lot about wi-fi connected smart deadbolts that you can open with a phone.

Quick background on me, I currently live in Jersey City with my wife and daughter and work in advertising technology in NYC.

In the last couple years technology has gotten a lot more efficient at flagging these situations, so it is not something I would recommend taking a risk on.  

It's still a fledgling concept that will likely evolve greatly as technology advances.
