Using electronic wifi deadbolts instead of buzzer system

I have a 4 unit property that I AirBnB the basement out of and already pay for internet at the property. The buzzer system has gone bad and I have been quoted 2.5-3k+ to essentially put in a new, but still same technology system that has been used for the last 20+ years.

I've been reading a lot about wi-fi connected smart deadbolts that you can open with a phone. I was interested in try to create a system were I could use this instead of a buzzer and tenants can open the door via their phone?

Does anyone have experience pulling something off like this?

I personally have an August lock installed at my Airbnb residence and I love it. I can control it from my phone from San Francisco (my property is about 500 miles away from me) and it integrates with Airbnb to send guests automatic personalized codes for their reservation that expire after the end of their stay. I got it on sale for $199 but I think they typically run around $229. Take a look at it and see if it will work for your situation because it might be an inexpensive solution.
