I'm curious if anyone has any insight on hosting a wedding at their primary residence.

With the high construction costs nowadays it's hard to add that much value, plus ADU's don't sell at the same $/sqft as the regular house, and there's not a steady readily available comparable properties to base valuation so the easiest method is replacement cost.I hosted a Meetup and wrote about ADU's on my website.

There are a host of fiscal reasons that all seem pretty obvious as to why that is.

My intent is to do precisely what the host you mention does - but so far I've been too tied up in other things to really get it organized.  

We're a 30 minute drive from it and in the beginning we'll be the ones turning it over but I'd love to know how distance hosts manage preparing for the next guest.

There are also several monthly meet ups including one hosted by @Cameron Whitehead in San Marcos and another meet up in New Braunfels.
