@Alfred C DunlapI will find it hard to believe that someone in H&R Block will be able to understand the wholesaling business that you are doing.I would instead look for an accountant/CPA who is a frequent contributor to the biggerpocket forums.It doesn't necessarily matter that you did not have any sales or revenue for you to start claiming expenses on your tax return.

@Karthik RamachandranIf you are just starting out, then there are several ways  to pick a location:1) your own backyard - sounds like it is out of the question for you2) where you have friends and/or family and plan to visit3) where you'd want to frequently visit4) where you'd potentially want to retireThis can give you a head start of some geo areas and then you can narrow your search down based on the additional research of each location
