I grew up in Rochester and went to college in Buffalo, just wondering what your thoughts are on each of those markets seeing as you are right in the middle of both.

@Clay SmithVery true, but I think I might work an area that I am very familiar with and can work some contacts where I grew up and with less competition but maybe in some time I will come play with the big boys. 

I grew up here and I may be new to investing but I have always been interested in real estate and watched our market. 

The problem I have is I grew up in a tropical country, even after 10 years in California & Vegas, I have not lived through any winter/snow.

Anyways, I've ran into a deal that was thrown at me from one of my REI buddies i grew up with.

Grew up there, and respected.

My other property was not a rehab and I had plumbing issues there due to clogged sewer lines because the tree roots grew into the sewer lines under my front yard. 

I grew up in an area that  most would consider a war zone and I invest in those same areas and do just fine because I live here in Memphis and I can do what most others can't do....
